EIB has signed a €300 million ($324.4 million) loan with iliad to accelerate the roll-out of ultra-fast broadband in France, including less dense and rural areas.

With this new loan, which brings the total amount of financing provided to iliad to more than €1.4 billion ($1.5 billion) since 2009, the EIB is renewing its support for the Group in financing its fiber networks and assisting in the rollout of its latest generation mobile networks.

The loan has a maturity of up to six years and it is in line with the European objective of improving ultra-fast connectivity for businesses and individuals.
