Dorset Green H2 project secures funding
Canford Renewable Energy Ltd has completed a £6.5 million ($8.75 million) funding package for the Dorset Green H2 project near Poole in the South West of England. Hydrogen production at the Canford Resource Park site will be powered by a 5MW ground-mounted solar installation, supplemented by electricity produced from the site’s existing landfill gas. Methane gases have been captured at the former landfill site since 1996. A 0.87MW electrolyser will produce up to 120,000kg of green hydrogen fuel annually that will be compressed, stored, and sold for local and regional use as a carbon free fuel. Funding includes £3 million from Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership's Growing Places Fund loan scheme, a £1.5 million grant from Low Carbon Dorset, a £1.7 million loan from NatWest and equity funding from Canford Renewable Energy.
