Sri Lanka denies China's Hambantota Port refinery proposal

The Sri Lankan government has rejected a proposal by a Chinese consortium of China Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering and Shandong Dongming Petrochemical to build the $3 billion refinery near the southern port of Hambantota, citing adverse affects on the local market.
