Japan to privatise Kumamoto airport

Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Tourism has announced privatisation plans for Kumamoto Airport on the far-south island of Kyushu, that was damaged during an earthquake in 2016. The outsourcing of operations and the construction of a new terminal building will begin in April 2020.
