Exile Group partners with Bridgepoint to support next level growth
Exile Group welcomes Bridgepoint, a leading mid-market investor, which will take a minority interest in the leading provider of events and intelligence for the export, trade, project, infrastructure and development finance communities.
Exile Group will partner with Bridgepoint, a leading mid-market investor, which will take a minority interest in the company and work alongside the existing management team.
We started Exile Group from Dom’s [Dominik Kloiber’s] flat in Deptford, South East London in 2013 – initially with TXF, and later adding Proximo and Uxolo. Since day one, the business has been self-funded (and, on more than a few occasions, credit-card funded). Wherever possible, we’ve reinvested back into the company - building our database, strengthening our news and intelligence, improving our technology, and growing our team.
Being self-funded has given us freedom, but it can also create natural limits on how quickly and how far you can push. For some time, we’ve been looking for a partner who understands what we’re building, backs us as people, and recognises the importance of the sectors we serve.
From our first meeting, Bridgepoint stood out. We knew we had found a partner who will both support and challenge us as we continue to raise the bar for ourselves and, ultimately, be an even better partner to our customers.
Duncan Calam, partner and head of Bridgepoint Growth, says: “Exile has built a highly attractive position in markets that benefit from long-term structural growth, with a stellar reputation for delivering trusted intelligence. Its proprietary technology platform is differentiated and defensible, with clear opportunities to broaden coverage, expand internationally and deliver long-term value to its specialised, global customer base. We are pleased to be partnering with the Exile team, supporting their vision with growth capital through this next phase of development.”
We’re proud to work in project, export, trade and development finance - industries where the work being done has a tangible impact in the real world; and promise to remain focused on doing our job well. This partnership is about giving us the backing to keep investing in a service that supports those industries and the people within them.
Our customers have always been at the centre of Exile Group, and it’s the long-standing relationships and mutual respect we share that continue to drive us forward.
As always, we welcome your feedback and ideas on how we can improve what we do and where we should focus next.
Thirteen years in but we feel we’re just getting started.
